This Privacy & Cookies Policy explains how Remz collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal data when you use Clippi.cc and related services (the "Service"), whether you are an individual, creator, or part of a team. It also explains how Clippi uses cookies and similar technologies.

Clippi.cc is a product operated by Remz, a sole proprietorship registered in Sweden. In this policy, "Clippi", "we", "us", and "our" refer to Remz and the Clippi.cc Service.

For purposes of applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Remz is the data controller for personal data processed through Clippi.cc, except where we process personal data on behalf of a business customer under a data processing agreement.

2. Personal data we collect

We may collect and process the following categories of personal data.

Account data

• email address;
• name or display name, if provided;
• account settings;
• subscription status;
• login and authentication data.

Recording and video data

• screen recordings;
• browser tab recordings;
• desktop/window recordings;
• webcam footage, if used;
• microphone audio;
• system or browser audio;
• video titles, links, metadata, thumbnails, and technical video information;
• embedded YouTube links.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right and any required consent to record, store, and share content that includes other people, voices, images, screens, documents, or personal information.

Usage and technical data

• IP address;
• browser and device information;
• operating system;
• pages visited;
• actions taken in the Service;
• referral URLs;
• date and time of visits;
• logs, error reports, and security events.

Payment and billing data

Payments are handled by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record. We may receive limited payment-related information such as subscription status, order ID, billing email, plan, payment status, invoice status, tax/VAT status, and refund status. We do not store full card details.

Email and support data

If you contact us or sign up for emails, we may process your email address, message contents, support requests, newsletter preferences, delivery logs, and unsubscribe status.

We collect personal data:

• directly from you when you create an account, use the Service, record videos, contact us, or subscribe to emails;
• automatically through cookies, logs, analytics, and technical systems;
• from service providers such as Dodo Payments, Brevo, Bunny.net, Umami, Google Analytics, and infrastructure providers;
• from embedded third-party services such as YouTube, where applicable.

We use personal data to:

• provide, operate, maintain, and secure Clippi;
• create and manage user accounts;
• record, store, deliver, and share videos;
• process subscriptions, billing, invoices, VAT/tax, refunds, and payment issues;
• send transactional emails, account notices, sign-up emails, and newsletters;
• provide support and respond to requests;
• analyze and improve the Service;
• prevent fraud, abuse, spam, malware, and security incidents;
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device that help websites function, remember preferences, understand usage, and provide embedded or analytics features.

Clippi uses necessary cookies and local browser storage for core preferences. We use Umami for privacy-friendly website analytics without cookies in our setup. With your consent where required, we also use optional cookies and similar technologies for analytics, ads, and personalization, including Google Analytics. You can accept or reject optional cookies through our cookie banner.

We store your optional cookie consent choice in your browser using localStorage so we can remember whether you accepted or rejected these cookies.

We may use cookies and similar technologies for:

• authentication and login sessions;
• security and fraud prevention;
• remembering cookie preferences;
• measuring usage and improving the Service;
• loading or displaying embedded third-party content such as YouTube videos.

7. Types of cookies we use

We do not currently use advertising pixels such as Meta Pixel or TikTok Pixel.

8. Website analytics

We use Umami for privacy-friendly website analytics. In our setup, Umami does not use cookies and is used to understand basic website activity such as page views and referrers.

We use Google Analytics and related tools only if you accept optional cookies. Google Analytics helps us understand marketing performance and improve the Service. In regions where consent is required, Google Analytics is loaded only after you consent to optional cookies.

Google Analytics may process information such as device data, browser data, usage events, pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, and cookie identifiers.

9. YouTube embeds

Clippi may allow users to paste a YouTube link and embed or display YouTube content. YouTube is operated by Google and may collect data when you interact with embedded YouTube content, depending on your browser, device, Google account status, and cookie choices.

You should review Google's and YouTube's own privacy and cookie information for details about how they process data.

10. Email communications and Brevo

We use Brevo to send emails related to sign-up, account activity, service notices, and newsletters.

Transactional emails may include account creation messages, login messages, password-related emails, service notices, payment-related notices, and important updates. Newsletter or marketing emails are sent where you have subscribed or where otherwise permitted by law.

You can unsubscribe from newsletters using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us at contact@clippi.cc. We do not currently use email open or click tracking.

11. Third-party service providers and subprocessors

We use third-party service providers to operate, secure, and deliver the Service. These providers may process personal data on our behalf or as independent controllers depending on the service and context.

Bunny.net storage is configured for Europe where applicable.

We may update our service providers as the Service evolves.

12. International transfers

We are based in Sweden, but some service providers may process personal data outside Sweden or the European Economic Area. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses, data processing agreements, and other lawful transfer mechanisms.

13. Video retention

Free/basic account videos are automatically deleted after 7 days.

Pro account videos do not expire while the subscription remains active, unless the user deletes them or violates the Terms.

When a Pro account is downgraded to Basic, existing Pro videos remain available, but new Basic videos expire after 7 days.

If you delete a video, we take steps to remove it from active availability. Deleted content may remain in backups, logs, caches, or technical systems for a limited period where necessary for security, legal, or operational reasons.

14. Other retention periods

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain security.

Examples:

• account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion where needed;
• billing and transaction records may be kept as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes;
• support messages may be kept as needed to handle your request and maintain service records;
• security logs may be kept for a limited period to protect the Service and investigate abuse.

Depending on where you live, including under GDPR, you may have rights to:

• access your personal data;
• correct inaccurate personal data;
• delete personal data;
• restrict processing;
• object to processing;
• request data portability;
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
• lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

In Sweden, the relevant supervisory authority is Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).

16. Your responsibilities when recording others

Clippi is a recording and sharing tool. You are responsible for how you use it.

Before recording or sharing content, you should ensure that you have any required consent and legal basis, especially if your recording includes:

• another person's voice, face, screen, documents, or personal data;
• customer, employee, business, or confidential information;
• sensitive information such as health, financial, login, legal, or private information;
• copyrighted or third-party content.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data and user content, including access controls, encrypted connections, vendor controls, and trusted infrastructure providers.

However, no online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for deciding what information you record and share.

18. Business customers and data processing

If a business customer uses Clippi to process personal data on behalf of others, such as employees, customers, clients, or users, the business customer may be the data controller and Remz may act as a processor for certain data. A data processing addendum may be made available to eligible business customers upon request.

19. Children's privacy

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of legal majority in your country, to create a paid account. If you are under 16, you may only use Clippi with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us without proper permission, contact us at contact@clippi.cc.

20. Managing cookie preferences

Where required, you can accept or reject non-essential cookies through our cookie banner. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

If you block or delete cookies, some parts of the Service may not work properly.

21. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy & Cookies Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
